The Institute for Healing through Sound and Music is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation. It promotes the profession of certified sound and music practitioners who offer live therapeutic sound and music for people of all ages experiencing stress, physical or mental illness, and those who are dying or bereaved. Sound and music practitioners are encouraged to be certified by nationally recognized programs and to maintain their certification through continuing education.
IHSM offers sound and music practitioners professional membership recognition through a cross-program central listing as well as program based and approved continuing education opportunities through links to program sponsored webinars and similar CEU events promoted by the programs. Networking opportunities are available countrywide to expand knowledge and skill.The Institute provides informational programs of outreach to the community and health care professionals which includes educational presentations, resources, and a directory of certified music and sound practitioners.
